Since MPTS crashes when I try to use IBMPRISM, I have to manually edit protocol.ini and ibmlan.ini and config.sys. I now have both my wired and wireless drivers listed in config.sys. I have one ibmlan.ini which is set for one net only. I have two protocol.ini files, one with .wrd for the wired nic and one with .wls for the wireless nic. Before shutting down, I have to determine which nic I will be using next boot, and copy the .wrd or .wls version to protocol.ini, if necessary. I will make a script that I can access from an alt-f1 command line to copy the one I want at boot, to save the pain of a double boot if I get caught off guard. The only way I could get the wireless nic to work correctly is to place all of the SSID and WEP information in the protocol.ini file (I use wep128 security on my Linksys WRT54G router, and SSID broadcast is off). Without that in the .ini file and having it defined in xwlan, I could connect to the linksys, but many web pages wouldn't load, I could not send mail, and peer wouldn't work. In this configuration, my browser has no problems with any web page, send mail works, and my peer network is alive and well. As I said, it's not optimal, but it works. It has taken way too much time to get to this point, so I will not try to work on improving it for a while. Thanks to everyone who made recommendations and suggestions.
