your findings were absolutely correct. I somewhat knew what was going 
on, but could not reproduce the problem - I just had to find why the 
bindings of protocol.ini sometimes not have been written to os2.ini, and 
thanks to the users coming with their notebook to Warpstock Europe 2005 
in Dresden last weekend, having this error, I could track down the reason.

Thank you very much for your kind words! Developers need that from time 
to time, and users coming to events also give important feedback and 
motivation (I know that WSE is too far away for most people from 
oversea, only some showed up, but where of course appreciated even more).

In order not to forget other developers as well: everybody please send 
mails to authors if you use software from them! Let's keep developers 
motivated!
