Had dsl installed today with a Linksys router BEFW11S4 version 4 between.   Modem uses PPoE dynamic address.  Can ping and change
settings in router.   Appears tcpip settings are ok with possible exception  of Route Add Net statement in setup.cmd:

route -fh
arp -f
ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1
ifconfig lan0 192.168.1.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 metric 1 mtu 1492
REM ifconfig lan1
REM ifconfig lan2
REM ifconfig lan3
REM ifconfig lan4
REM ifconfig lan5
REM ifconfig lan6
REM ifconfig lan7
REM ifconfig sl0
route add net 142.161.130.155 192.168.1.1 1 netmask 255.255.255.0  > null
ipgate off

this is tcpip ver 4.0
142.161.130.155 dns isp server, tried gateway with router address no better
ipgate either way no difference, only 1 box connected to router.

[E:\]netstat -r

161.2.155.0  no idea what this number is.

[E:\]ifconfig lan0
lan0: flags=b863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,BRIDGE,SNAP> metric 1
         inet 192.168.1.5 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255

Router is set as: PPoE, user, password, keepalive, mtu 1491

Routing Table Entry List
Destination LAN IP Subnet Mask Default Gateway Hop Count Interface
0.0.0.0   0.0.0.0 205.200.254.6 1 WAN
216.130.91.19 255.255.255.255 0.0.0.0 1 WAN
192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 0.0.0.0 1 LAN

205.200.254.6  is a gateway box of isp beyond modem
216.130.91.19  is dynamic address given by modem

Appears there should more entries replacing the zeroes in probably gateway, if so in tcpcfg or router?  Wireless is turned off in router
Static ip from box to router.
