I basically had the same setup on my T41 but was using a PC card for the
wireless NIC (with the PRISM driver) since I did not have drivers for the
wireless NIC in the laptop.  The only thing I did was to add a "-d 0" parameter
to the DHCP client in \mptn\bin\setup.cmd so it looked like "dhcpstrt -i lan0
-d 0".  This will stop an error message from the DHCP client during boot which
you must hit enter to get boot to finish.  If I was at home plugging in the
cable on the wired NIC got me connected.  On the road I would start XWLAN 1.2
manually (I don't use it as a widget) after boot and it would connect and after
a short delay DHCP would get an address and the system was connected.  Now that
I have the GENMAC driver I am doing the same thing only using XWLAN 2.0 .

After reading some other posts I am now going to test the public hot spot to
see if I can connect that way with XWLAN 2.0.  So far I have only connected to
my home network (WEP) and not one of my neighbors unsecured networks.
