And what are we supposed to do to get it right?

No genmac around, just the old cisco-350 pcmcia environment.

After moving back to wlan 1.20, and setting tcpip from lan7 to lan0, 
everthings works again.

Thus to me it looks like version 2 defaults to lan7.
