Well, I think I have a decent solution.
I removed the .11b miniPCI card, inserted a .11abg miniPCI card, and
installed the genmac 1.00 driver. Now things work as they did before,
except that I'm at 54Mbps now!

Many thanks to everyone involved in the 54Mbps project!!!

Now it's time to reinsert those 12 screws that stop letting my
Thinkpad fall apart... ;-)
