Let me know if that makes a difference for you, Mark; it should. That said, Jens sent me the following in September of 2003, in reply to my question concerning power management of the Cisco 350:

The power management function should simply work. As opposed to the intersil problems with power management, it works with little effort from the driver side.

But who knows? I turned off all PM on the card long ago, because I didn't like the performance hit I took when the card was constantly shutting itself down and then reconnecting (yes, it did work for me). I quickly came to realize the benefit of maintaining my connection (especially with IPX connections to NetWare networks, as the NetWare Requester does not support auto-reconnect; this forced me to have to constantly re-authenticate as the card would go down and come back up).

Hello Lewis:

The situation he described has always been the case
for my Cisco 350 with the 350 drivers and WXLan.  It
doesn't happen with my Adaptec SCSI card (AHA-1460).
However, if I turn off power to both cards, the 350
does not appear in the menu to be reactivated.  This
is with a T30.

I'll try your suggestion about editing PROTOCOL.INI.

Best Regards,

- Mark
