A Trap 8 is a hardware interrupt issue. Windows is notorious for not 
properly shutting down the hardware upon reboot, Miles. This issue can 
be seen in everything from a sound card to video adapter. The real 
problem is with Windows, not OS/2. I used to experience this problem 
with my T20 when rebooting from W2K to OS/2. I had to power cycle the 
machine when going back to OS/2. I think a subsequent firmware update 
(or Windows fix) resolved the issue, as I haven't seen it on T2x series 
machines for some time.

Robert addressed this rather well. That said, I think you'll find better 
low signal performance from newer versions (upcoming) of XWLAN and/or 
newer drivers and firmware. We're getting there (and you should see what 
some of the Linux guys have to go through)...

Come to Warpstock!! Seriously, the list archives here are probably the 
most enlightening tome you're likely to find (not meaning to puff up my 
chest). Also check for tips in the Voice newsletter 
(http://www.os2voice.org). It would be great to be able to actually 
publish a book on OS/2 Wi-Fi use, even if it were a small volume (hey, 
the thought of publishing any book on OS/2 these days would be great).
