According to skype.com it is approx. 2 cents per minute and you pay in advance with a credit card, said credit drawn down as you are using it for calls. By the way, this rate is only for a very limited number of countries and does /not/ include calling cell phone numbers in most countries. The cost for calling other countries very much varies and is listed on their website. Calling a cell phone in Europe is quite expensive which is to be expected since the cell phone owners do /not/ pay for incoming calls (in contrast to the U.S. and Canada where incoming calls are charged for but the caller pays exactly the same rate as for any other call.) Skype has marketed itself in an amazing fashion, way outside what it deserves from a business standpoint. Repeating myself, Skype == hype. There is no doubt that Skype's current business idea will be left behind as VoIP solutions not requiring computers become more commonplace. Such offerings have been available in the U.S. for probably two years, do exist in Europe, and today we saw Stan's message that he just started using it in Israel. I will grant Skype credit for giving VoIP calling a higher profile, though, but as a long-term business venture, forget about it. Earlier this year, Skype itself declared that they would develop their own telephone so that a computer would no longer be needed, ultimately killing off their current solution themselves. Paul, What do you pay to make calls to regular phones, both here and in Europe? How about calls to cell phones?
