Recent versions of XWLAN pick the adapter number from PROTOCOL.INI, AFAIK. However, if not using a GenMAC-supported acrd, this may not (always) work, as XWLAN may not be able to determine the driver to match against PROTOCOL.INI (and Christian, if you are reading this one and I've misspoken - again - please correct me). This is what I recall from a conversation Christian & I had some time ago. I'm fairly certain that there is no longer a configuration page to manually set the if.

Hm, 3.1 makes no difference - It is still trying to configure lan1 and
says it is disabled. I don't recall *ever* seeing a page to set it.

Dave, could you post your PROTOCOL.INI, please?

With a diagnostic from Christian we have it sussed. To update the bind
data, which is in OS2.INI BTW, xwlbind.dll needs to run once - In fact
it was not running at all. Mainly because it is installed into
x:\ecs\dll - Which on my system is not in LIBPATH. Also on this system
that is the *only* dll in there.

Interesting. You installed from the XPI, I take it.

I forgot that there was a "shim" to pull the LANx info into the ini. Your post reminded me of a discussion that Christian and I had some time ago about this; I don't know why it didn't come to the fore in one of my earlier posts.

Glad you got that part worked out.
