I have some major tasks that conflict with the Warpstock schedule this year. Also, I have a T30 but was hoping that the card that worked in the T23 would do so in the T30. >> I agree with most of what you say here. Unfortunately, I have one of the T30s with a defective memory slot. I must send it in for depot repair and can't be without it. Right now I have a 512MB DIMM installed. It rarely comes anywhere close to swapping. So, I'm not sure how much better it will be with a GB of RAM. By the way, I have the same processor. It's quick enough with most tasks but underpowered for VPC. Most of my comparisons are based on using PMView and WP51DOS, two programs that I consider pretty nimble. The fact that I see any difference gives me pause. I can understand the effect of a much better video card in my PA2013. The WP gap is a little more difficult to explain. > I just built a workstation for Tom Melendez' PHP presentation at > Warpstock. I'm looking at the possibility of moving up to a T40 once their used and refurbished prices come down. Right now, I'm waiting for my Intel SE7501WV2- SCSI320 board to arrive while I try to find a pair of cpus and at least 1GB of memory that I can afford. It should allow me to get some work done, at least when I'm at home. Take care.
