Julian, perhaps this thread will address your question:

http://www.cwnp.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=871&

They are probably talking about dynamic WEP keys. I do not know of an OS/2 driver which supports dynamic WEP, and this distribution mechanism is not part of the 802.11 standard (Cisco does it with Cisco EAP, however; they may be running Cisco AP hardware).

On 09/22/2005 08:49 am, Julian Thomas thus wrote :
In trying to get wireless to work in a Hampton Inn the other night, I
picked up their "help" document.  I should note that I had a good signal
strength, and the process got as far as their authentication screen, but
after that there was no internet connection.

At any rate, their instructions (which you can see at
http://bright.net/~lindaz/hampton-inn/hampton.html  say to set up a
wireless network:

You are going to add in the hhonors manually to do this select ADD on the
bottom left corner and type the hhonors in the the field listed as Network
Name (SSID).

Also make sure you have checks in the option
Data Encryption (WEP enabled) and This key is provided for me
automatically.

Now I have a XWLan profile with the ssid set, but don't understand
(neither does XWLAN) WEP with an automatically provided key.  FWIW I was
unable to get it to work in Win2k either; and the Cisco Aironet utility
didn't seem to understand automatic key provision either.

They told me at the desk the next day that there had been a lot of
problems with their provider (apparently they use local ISPs).
