It has me stumped.. When I use my Asus 300G wireless unit, with the laptop I can browse the world etc. The link to my Linksys 54wg router is fine..BUT I cannot route through the router and log on to the server: "Requested resource is not available". I can ping the server but not log on. If I unplug the Asus unit and plug in some Cat5 cable, I can log on fine and everything works properly. The opposite setup exhibits the same behaviour. It seems that the Linksys has some firewall setting which restricts the lan server traffic, and there is nothing in the linksys setup which seems at all relevant. At the moment everything is set wide open wrt firewall type stuff (WEP is enabled, but that is only on the link between the Asus unit and the router...) Absolutely stumped. Any wild guesses? I don't think it can be the Asus unit. That only leaves the router. The server has TCPIP, Netbios and Netbios over TCPIP. The laptop is not here at the moment, but I think it does not have Netbios over TCPIP...but that is unlikely to be the problem because everything works when hardwired by Cat5 cable... Geoff Love that little Asus unit BTW...It does get a might hot. I was kinda surprised at that. G. R.
