Willibald doesn't want to get bogged down in a support nightmare, dealing with "your driver won't work with my card," and "why can't you just fix this?" sorts of issues. This end of the spectrum needs to be solidified before he is willing to make his work public, and I can fully understand his reasons. >> takes you nothing but a conversation with Willibald and your dedication >> to help other people with their problems. >> > And while you are thinking, tell me what problem "Willibald" (whoever > that might be) Willibald Meyer is the developer of the driver. You may read more (though dated) info here: http://www.os2warp.be/index2.php?name=genmac . > has in releasing his bloody damn own product. > > I just don't get it! > Kris, have you ever had to deal with angry, frustrated users, many of whom do not even know how to install and configure your software, asking you time and again the same questions, usually because they were too lazy to read the documentation which you painstakingly drafted and proofread? How about people who demand FREE drivers and software...along with support which is on par with commercially-available packages? Roderick's references to Chris' pages regarding his multimedia classes are a prime example of how to drive away good people with negativity. If you are truly interested in assisting with the GenMAC project, I would suggest you contact either Adrian at Netlabs or Jonas Buys at OS2Warp.be. Finally, Kris, I think your tone with Daniela was entirely uncalled for. Perhaps it's a language issue, as I know that English is not your native tongue, but Dani was merely pointing you in the right direction. She is another developer who spends countless hours fine tuning her work, then distributing it for FREE. We all benefit from her hours of labor on her own releases as well as her input here and elsewhere online, and I, for one, am honored to count her among not only our subscribers on this list, but also as a personal friend. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users International www.novell.com/linux/truth Warpstock 2005 - Hershey, Pennsylvania, October 6-9, 2005 www.warpstock.org ------------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to steward@2rosenthals.com with the command "unsubscribe os2-wireless_users" in the body (omit the quotes).
