You have a Thinkpad with an antenna built in but a non-functional (w/eCS-OS/2) mPCI card. Why shouldn't it work (unless they changed the connection in the card types)? Both B & G are the same frequencies. My point was strickly for those of us who have the TPs without built-in wireless, there's an extra issue to overcome.
