LinkSys has officially retired the original WRT54G product line, in favor of the WRT54G2 (which is internally similar to the WRT54G v8, but with internal antennas). Unfortunately, this router isn't yet supported by DD-WRT (not sure about OpenWRT or even SVEASOFT.
Anyway, while the GL (more memory, for a larger Linux build & better performance) units are selling on eBay for $70 or so (forget the ridiculous ones listed for $140), they are available brand new from Amazon.com for $49.90, and free SuperSavor shipping applies.
If anoyone is in the market for a new G router/AP, I would consider it a personal favor if you would do the Amazon search through the Warpstock homepage: (see my sig). The Amazon search is on the right side of the home page; just enter "wrt54gl" in the search box. There's no cost to you to do this, and Amazon kicks back a few $$ to our favorite educational institution (besides, my college alma mater got enough $$ from me when I paid my tuition).
