After a little experimentation, I've gotten the IBM high-rate miniPCI card
working on my Dell Latitude C840.  I used the IBMPRISM driver from
www.ecomstation.com.  I've also got XWLAN 1.20 working.  The only problem I
have remaining is that the File & Print Client doesn't like to start when I
first boot the machine (probably because the WLAN isn't fully setup until
eCenter and xWLAN start up.)

I also sometimes have problems with logging on to my Win2K domain over the
wireless connection at home.

Anyone have any ideas?

Andrew

I've been off the net for a few days and finally made it to a coffee
house a couple miles north of where we are staying that has free WiFi
access.  It's called "To Life" and its in Fenwick Island in Delaware).
We are in Ocean City, MD but only a mile or so below the MD-DE boarder.

You can get an hour of free WiFi (or wired) access with a purchase.
They won't kick you out after the hour unless there are people waiting.
Only a few people here at the moment, so no pressure.  They have a
long counter with six high stools and 3 small tables to sit at.  They
also have 3 computers setup if you don't have your own (running windoze
of course).  But what was great is I booted my T42p with eCS 1.25 and
used xWlan to Public Hotspot and it picked it up immediately. And right
onto the net.  Didn't have to change anything other then the xWlan menu
option.

Now to go through the 980+ messages. :-(

Mark
