This made my skin crawl. It reminded me of "1984" and "Brave New World".

Whatever works to pay his bills. But whether I take advantaqe of the floor show
(?) or listen to my iPod; mingle virtually with the others or sit and
contemplate the meaning of life while I drink my coffee, is none of his
business.
