[To everyone]: Remember that the participation in this is purely voluntary, i.e., just like instant messaging. One does not have to allow one's avatar to be plastered on the screen for all to see, nor does one have to make an exclusive choice. As an example, one day, I may feel more sociable than the next, so one day I turn it on, and the other I don't. Likewise, if I want to ignore certain people, I would want to have a way to never display their avatars on my desktop. Yes, perhaps we should have some sort of impromptu roundtable at Warpstock on this sort of thing. I, for one, would find it fascinating (and it's so refreshing to take a break from the technology all the time!).
