One thing that I always need to know as early as possible is the outline schedule, in particular when the first session starts and the last one finishes, so I can plan transport. I usually end up missing the last session or two because I have to catch a flight, and knowing this and when I need to be there to catch the start is vital information that's needed ASAP - and usually doesn't appear until much too late to book flights. >I need to get some feedback from this list to shape my >presentations, as I don't want to re-hash the same stuff I've done the >past two years (those presentations are still available for download >from the Warpstock site, BTW). I recently bought a couple of the Asus WL-330g "Pocket Wireless Access Point" devices, and they're excellent! I set one up as the AP and the other as an Ethernet Adaptor on my ThinkPad, and the performance was excellent. I walked up the road to check range, and gave up when I started receiving someone else's network on the same channel (about 100 yards from home). I think you should tell people about these in more detail because although they're not as convenient as an internal device, they do give us 802.11g without any driver worries. I'll bring mine along if you like. >Finally, who on this list is seriously considering registering for Warpstock this year? Well my original reaction was disappointment (along with "Where?" :-) because I know SCOUG had a bid in and I was hopping it was going to be there, half an hour's drive from some friends that I can stay with! But I spoke to my girlfriend (she lives in New York) and she was enthusiastic about us both going - with her "hitting the town" while I'm in the sessions. So count me as one for the conference plus one other! I take it that the room rates are not per-person? What are the facilities for Internet in the rooms? If it's wired, can I use my Pocket APs to set up my own little WiFi hotspot?
