Sharing needs two (or, depending on the protocols you use, three)
things, tied closely together: MPTS (\IBMCOM\PROTOCOL.INI) and Peer
(\IBMLAN\IBMLAN.INI) and (depending on the protocols you use) TCP/IP
(\MPTN\*).
Browsing needs two: MPTS and TCP/IP.
So, the basis is MPTS. Check it's log:
[C:\] type lantran.log
Then, decide what you want to do first (sharing/using files/printers,
or surfing the web / reading/sending email).

This can be a problem of MPTS, TCP/IP or Peer. So, better have the
basics correct first.
