The above tells me that genmac isn't installed right and/or MPTS isn't
configured right.

The steps are:
- install genmac100 through the install.cmd that is part of the package.
- start MPTS, choose the correct card (for instance, in my setup:
"GenMac Wrapper Atheros Wlan [168C:1014]").

Afterwards, protocol.ini should have something like:
[IBMLXCFG]
   W168CX1014_nif = W168Cx1014.nif

AFAICS, it should _not_ contain a genm.nif.
