Yes, in the Microsoft NDIS specification is written that signal strength
should be typically between -10 and -200 dBm.
Today I did some theoretical calculations, basically combining
Shannon's theorem and the Boltzmann formula for thermal noise:
The theoretical receive signal limit using ideal hardware and ideal
modulation methods for transmitting 1Mbit/s over a 22MHz channel is
-109.4dBm, for transmitting 54Mbit/s over a 22MHz channel is -88dBm.
Actual 802.11g hardware is reaching -92..-95dBm for 1Mbit/s and
-70..-75dBm for 54Mbit/s.
