Why would we advise to use 11b is there is available 11g? Wireless PCI 
cards 11g cost less than 30 euro, and are currently vailable (11b is 
finished as you well are aware of):

3com/SKnet Gigabit
Dlink DWL-G520+

And no doubt with genmac version 1.5 there will be more (I've purchased 
myself 2 copies of Dlink DWL-G520+ last week).

In respect to laptops too, I would strongly advise to purchase anything 
11b now.
