Don't know anything about cellular. I would recommend running out of the room screaming if someone suggests it though.
I take it that you have a desktop system here? The one wireless desktop I have is using the Netgear MA-311 (I think) PCI Card with the IBM Prism driver (available on ecomstation.com) which includes the WifiState program for up to 4 profiles. If this is a desktop and you are only connecting to one AP you don't really need to use WifiState.
What hardware is known to work well with ECS; what drivers are needed?
Is anyone using cellular for direct access to the internet? I've been using my old Qualcomm cellphone as a modem since 1997 but would really like to move up to something faster (14,400 baud is OK for email only, I guess, until my sister just HAS to share that 20Meg photo album while I'm on the road).
Well now it sounds like your talking about a Laptop. If so and you have an integrated Wifi adapter GenMac 1.0 was recently released and is working great with my integrated Broadcom B/G in my Dell Latitude D600. If you don't have an integrated card then the IBM High Rate 128 PCMCIA card works great and the IBM driver is available on ecomstation.com. You can also use an Orinco Gold card with this driver.
