I have to agree with that, just from the point of view of resolution. I have been considering moving from the widget to the standalone because I can't tell any difference among the widget's sub-icons that report signal strength. The shape is resolvable, but the shades of blue and grey all look pretty much alike. (I see these only in the Help file, as I'm not yet able to operate.) But now we're told that the icons of the standalone are like those of the widget (I have not checked this), so that switching wouldn't bring improvement. I have a suggestion for the widget: I do not think anyone would complain if the widget would occupy, say, another half centimeter or even twice that, if the additional space were used for more recognizable icons -- differing in *shape*, please, *not* in shade. I dare say that most people use this utility in laptops, ergo with LCD screens, which have their limitations. The solution for the standalone utility is obvious, and others have pointed it out: why be chintzy with icons? Make them big enough to be seen easily, and again make them differ by shape or by primary colors, not by color saturation. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel "When your enemy falls, do not rejoice." -- Proverbs 24:17 Windows 95: n. 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company, that can't stand 1 bit of competition. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to steward@2rosenthals.com with the command "unsubscribe os2-wireless_users" in the body (omit the quotes).
