As you've mentioned, there is a FAQ and there is a How-to. Isn't the above
better placed in the How-to?

A FAQ that is very large may not serve its purpose as well as one that is more
sparse, thus lending itself to easy location of truly burning questions that
afflict everyone ("frequently"). That's why they are called *Frequently* Asked
questions ("F" may have different meanings in different contexts). Perhaps the
document you are writing now is a "Guide", of which the FAQ is a digest
containing brief questions for the truly uninitiated and equally brief answers.
