I think what really highlighted the need for this were not only your initial comments on the mailing list, but the ongoing discussion with Kris in the thread concerning Jacaranda for dummies. The point is that many of us on this list have by now set up several Wi-Fi cards in several machines, and take much of what we know and do for granted. It's sort of akin to me teaching my almost-7-year-old (Rachel will be seven on the 23rd; I can hardly believe it...if you'll forgive a father's slightly misty-eyed recollection of holding my little girl in the hospital what seems so recently...) how to tie her shoes. When I was teaching piano, I used to make the analogy concerning the involved muscles in the fingers and hands to teaching someone to walk; if one were to stop and think about every little thing going on when taking a series of steps, he'd probably fall over! this is what I'm hoping the FAQ and the subsequent How-To will help us avoid.
