Lewis, Thanks for this important undertaking.

It's the least I can do for all fo my fans. :-[ ...

In response to your request for comments:

- Need for "what is DHCP", including a remark that this should be first choice over static IP

Okay.

- Mention that USB wifi does not work presently with OS/2

I thought we had at least one driver? Also, there are the whole genre of ethernet-to-Wi-Fi adapters which will work without problems (or drivers) under ANY OS which supports wired ethernet (thanks to our "friends" at M$ and their X-box gizmo, which only has a wired ethernet interface on it).

- Explain which cards will require/accept cardbus, rather than pcmcia. Clear the confusion around this.

Now we're getting into the realm of PCMCIA (16-bit) vs CardBus (32-bit). Okay, determining the card is one thing, but how am I going to be able to address which notebook has which slots?

- You say "the card is simply added to ...", but added by who or what (program?)? May I suggest for clarity: "Simply add the card to ..."

Thanks; I'll change the wording. Good proofreading!

- You refer to the OS/2 Wireless Users mailing list, but I cannot se the corresponding link.

I want to add a footnotes section, with the appropriate subscription instructions. I should, however, at least include a link to the web archives (static as they are).

Lastly can I offer the following card/driver couple:
==============
Card:
(data copied from the card) NETGEAR 802.11B Wireless PC Card 16-bit PCMCIA MA401
MAC 0030AB19105E

Driver: Source: non-public; from the os2Warp.be site
(data from the NIF file)
Title =  Generic PRISM driver for PCMCIA/PLX cards
Version = 2.0RC4
DriverName = PRISMC$

Operation:
computer: TP600E
OS: eCS1.1
WEP is operational

From:
mg@pmc.polytechnique.fr
===============

Thanks. When I do devise a good registry of cards/drivers/hacks, I'll be sure to add this.

Thanks again for this splendid effort

No problem. Thanks for contributing!
