Hello Kris,

I think the whole wifi in OS/2 situation is a mess. Therefore IMHO there is not much point in trying to go back to how it worked (or not) 2 years ago. This being said, after having been at it for a couple of months, with much support from this group and others, I now have wifi working fine on a TP600E. My wifi PCMCIA card is a NetGear 401, and I am using a GenPrism (not public) driver. I also installed the WLan monitor (v. 1.11) which is much more than a monitor. In MPTS I installed the card,  took out any others (such as the "ec2t" I used for my Linksys ethernet card) and set up the TCPIP protocol only. I'm pretty sure this is unduly restrictive, but I'm still licking my wounds, hence going at it cautiously. Inspecting the .nif file will give you lots of comments on what is and is not required.

Most of the configuration can be done via the WLan monitor, you do not have to open TCPIP at all. As far as I can see, it's all easy (!) if only you have the correct driver. For instance, I tried other cards and they did not work, probably for lack of the correct driver. And the NetGear card did not work when I used the NetGear 401 driver which is on the os2warp.be site!

Earlier I suggested in this list and/or in (Ecs-Technical) that it would be useful to set up a Table of proven card-driver couples. I was told in no uncertain terms that such a Table exists on the .be site. I think the messages on this list show clearly enough that all is not well.

Good luck!
