Until then I never changed these values. Before I did that, I had quite some problems with the connection, first working, them dropping. At that time I did not test/use DHCP, so I cannot say anythign about the error being possible related to that as well. _If_ that is your problem as well, it may well be that the windows driver by default uses different values for the card as the OS/2 driver does.
