I thought this might be helpful to some here on the list who may be experiencing difficulty with certain cards and Jens' GenPRISM or WPC11 driver. This is an excerpt from an email he sent me in March of 2003.
N.B.: DEBUG_LEVEL, MANUFACT_CODE, and PRODUCT_CODE are all references to parameters in PROTOCOL.INI. They may be manually edited with a text editor (watch out for garbage characters, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS make a backup copy!!!!!!!!!) or changed from within MPTS.
Hope it helps:
How to get a new card recognized?
If you have DEBUG_LEVEL higher then 0x8000, then youget the socket information if you insert a new card. There are two fields in this structure which are of interest:
usManufCode=274 - this value goes to MANUFACT_CODE in PROTOCOL.INI
usManuInfo=1613 - this value goes to PRODUCT_CODE in PROTOCOL.INI
At the next reboot,the card should be recognized (or not, if it's not compatible). --
Lewis
