I have used lvmgui with java 14x since it came out. Oddly, with eCS 1.0 I used lvmgui with java 1.3.1 just fine but starting with eCS 1.1 it was no longer an option for me (did work fine with 1.4) as it would crash (can't remember now might have been a trap) when I used 1.3.1 as I had hidden drives.
