You know, Sam, you may be right. I was thinking about the updated LVM. I've always maintained 1.1.8 as my default JVM, even though I also have IBM's 1.3.1, GC 1.4.1, and Innotek's 1.4.2. I use different JVM's for different things. I suspect Kris' problem lies in his absence of 1.1.8.

For reference, and in case there's a difference, my tcpcfg2.cmd looks like this (I did not modify it in any way, nor do I know what the JAVA_COMPILER variable does):

@echo off
setlocal
cd C:\TCPIP\java
rem SET JAVA_COMPILER=xxx;
SET CLASSPATH=C:\TCPIP\java\tcpauth.jar;C:\TCPIP\java\jvc2.jar;C:\TCPIP\java\ddnssgui.jar;C:\TCPIP\java\Tcpcfg2.jar;C:\TCPIP\java\%tcplang%\cfg2res.jar;C:\TCPIP\java\netdiver.jar;C:\TCPIP\java\%tcplang%\tcpares.jar;
java COM.ibm.raleigh.tcp.tcpcfg2.client.Tcpcfg2c %tcplang% local notrace
endlocal

This is after the application of the latest TCPIP and MPTS fixes (UN02334 & WR08708), though I know for a fact that TCPCFG was working prior to the application of both updates. My prior tcpcfg2.jar was dated 2001-09-17 as was cfg2res.jar.

Are you using the version of TCPCFG2 which is Java-independent, or the one which is tied to JVM 1.1.8? (BTW, my \tcpip\java\tcpcfg2.jar is dated 2002-10-17).

How do I sort that out???

There is java131 here and GC java141, no java118.

When I replace the java131 byy GC java141 (the latest GA vesrsion),  tcpcfg2 hangs at startup.

My *jar is:

17-10-02 19:35      1.030.593      0 a---  tcpcfg2.jar

Exactly the same apparently.

I thought that TCPCFG2 required Java 1.1.8 no exceptions.  Are you guys saying there's a newer one that will work with newer java versions?  Anyway there are allot of apps that only work with Java 1.1.x so it is a good idea to always have that as your default JVM.
