And if you already have an ethernet adapter, you can use a "bridge" to go wifi: requires no OS-dependent driver. The only drawback is that you need to provide power, but that's hardly a draw-back, for a desktop.
What's a bridge? I design bridges but I am sure not the kind to wjich you are referring. I just want to wirelessly connect my DSL line that is connected to a Linksys broadband-G router thru the ISP (Verizon) supplied modem to my eCS box that is about 50' distant and one floor lower. Mark R
