I use the NetGear MR314 since two years now, this is an older 802.11b access point, which may be cheaper than the newer MR814, which is just a bit faster and has some more firewall features.
version 2, 814's can be had for $10 after rebates in the US, and have been certified for WPA but are without a public firmware release to enable that function.
