I got one of these. My wife is just grasping the possibilities of wireless and that we
actually have it in the house, as she asked me last week if she could sit out on the deck
with the W330G and her IP phone to the office when she works from home, naturally the
answer is yes :-).
This device has 2 internal diversity IFA antennas and you can turn the unit for better
signal strength. The other great advantages are that you can power it from your USB bus so
in a hotel room with a shortage of convenient plugs, that's a plus. And that it is setup
to hunt the strongest unencrypted signals automatically with a touch of a button switching
from network to network. Has a very nice travel case, too. There is a B and a G version of
this device the difference is $15-20. Might as well get a "G" since it's backwards
compatible. If you have a base AP that's G you could turn on the WPA security in the base
station and the W330G and have better encryption even in OS/2.
One caution, you must have the latest firmware for it to work with OS/2 based web browsers
for encrypted configurations in all modes. AP mode will display correctly with the old
firmware, but Client Mode. You must update the firmware to 1.12 in AP mode before you can
access the Client Mode in OS/2.
