Even though softphones will never give the quality of a hardware device, it's a pity we still don't have a VOIP softphone client for eComStation. If there were one, I could install it on my EeePC netbook and have the same capability that you refer to via my VSP.
There IS a working Java SIP application. I think I posted it already. If not someone remind me and I'll look around for it.
If you did I missed it. I had a look around for my VOIP presentation at
last years Warpstock Europe and found nothing then.
Also, I would be interested in your "How To" when you have finished it.
