eCS with no firewall at all is safer than W2k with one. Except if you buy a
really nice Windows firewall.

I use InJoy 3.0. It sets up with pretty nice default parameters, so just
install and go. But I'm running a server with a semi-published name.

If you are on a laptop and you don't run Windows, you are pretty safe.

Ask yourself, "What am I trying to protect?" It may be easier for the hackers
to infect your neighbor's Windows machine and then access your packets from
there. No software you install on your machine will protect you from that.
