We've had a hardware support issue for over a decade. By the time you have a
driver for a particular 802.11g card, the card will be discontinued. I solve
the problem by having spares, or knowing who in the OS/2 world is selling parts
that do work with the drivers we have.
Let me put it another way. I use OS/2 (or eComStation). I buy the best parts I
can get that have OS/2 support. I really don't care what other parts are out
there.
If my 802.11b card fails, I've got two sources for new ones with OS/2 drivers.
One reason I like the idea of GenMac so much is that I can use the Windows
driver, and get OS/2 support from it. That is an actual solution to the
decade-old hardware problem. Now when "this week's" hardware comes out, I can
just use GenMac. (I hope)
