Well, sohomax, finnegan for starters, and there area probably more.

 

Dunno about sohomax, but afaik Finnigan isn't a laptop manufacturer.

If you are a manufacturer, then there is nothing stopping you putting in
compatible miniPCI modem/wireless nic/wired nic into any notebook.

 

Question was about simple human beings having to purchase anew laptop.

Plus, if you need to build it yourself, there are brand new T23 etc. on e-Bay.

 

To have to depend on Ebay isn't exactly my idea of bright a future I have to confess.
