I believe that these days if one buys a laptop, it will probably come with windowsXP and with hardware and software for modem, for wireless and also for wired net access.Right indeed.
If I want to install os/2 or eCS, is there a way to use the hardware for modem, wireless and wire or is all this power (and weight) lost for os/2 users?Modem will remain a nono for ever I'm afraid, and even wireless is useless as it stands now. Well, you know, otherwise I wouldn't have troubled myself with that jacaranda card.
If so, isn't this getting to be a significant deterrence factor for us brave souls?Of course it is. But it was already so since Big Blue conceeded to M$ in 1995.
