(Sorry for my absence, everyone; I've been studying for a Novell exam, and have been a bit out of touch of late...)

Bluetooth (abbrev. "BT") is not (yet) supported on OS/2, AFAIK.

BT is a short range (several feet) wireless technology which, like Wi-Fi, travels over the 2.4GHz frequency band. It's main application (now) is for wireless headphones and cell phone headsets, though its promise was for things such as smart appliances (the refridge keeps spoiling milk; the technician walks within proximity of the unit, opens his Palm handheld, and the refridge tells the Palm what the problem is). It is unclear at this point whetehr BT will ever fulfill that promise.

Several ThinkPad models were (are still?) offered with BT in addition to Wi-Fi, with IBM's caveat that operating the two simultaneously could lead to transmission errors, data corruption, etc., as they interfere with one another due to the frequency overlap.

For more info on BT, I would suggest visiting http://www.bluetooth.com and/or http://www.bluetooth.org. I think we also have some bit of BT info at LI WireFree (http://www.liwirefree.org), but don't hold me to it.

I understand that Bluetooth is a wireless technology. How does it differ from WiFi? And is there any overlap?

I think one difference is that Bluetooth isn't supported by OS/2. Am I wrong?
