Hi, Randall. I would suggest that you attempt to mirror the exact firmware rev of your working card. Many people spoke of difficulty getting WEP working with the older "internal" IBM driver, and I suspect the problems were firmware related. Whatever you do, you don't want to use the latest firmware for the Cisco cards, as this will break connectivity under non-Windows OSes (known issue, and supposedly will be fixed in the next release).

Happy New Year, everyone!

Hi,

I purchased 2 Cisco 342 wireless cards through eBay recently and
I'm having trouble getting one of them to work with 40bit WEP
(I'm using the older driver freely available driver).

Both cards perform flawlessly without WEP under OS/2.  One card
works flawlessly with 40bit WEP under OS/2.  The other card works
through the same wireless router with 40bit WEP under Win95, but
I can't get it to work under OS/2.  I've tried flashing this card
with a few different revisions of the firmware to no avail.

Any ideas or suggestions about what's wrong.

Thanks,

Randall Taylor
