The problem you describe actually involves  two different protocols.  TCP/IP when downloading from the internet.  Net bios when you try to download from the server (copy?).  In my case downloading from the internet worked fine as did FTP to/from the server.  Both of these are TCP/IP.  When trying to copy (Netbios) to/from the server the results were erratic and the WifiState signal strength varied and  frequently dropped to nothing  requiring a reboot the get the MA311 back again.  The  FTP and Netbios tests were done with the same 5 meg file.    

I think that this is a problem related with Yours card or driver.
I have two cards Orinoco Silver and Jacaranda Blue and both are
working smooth with NetBIOS.
