I have a beta of genprism driver from Jens and have this same problem.
I think that card is initializing properly. In logs from my AP (D-Link DWL 900 AP+)
I see 5-6 packets sended by card during initialization process.
The card have two lights. One "radio on/off", this light is on
and second "transmission", this light is off.
