sure, why not? I maintain her computer so, it's always updated even though XP can do it by itself -- 
she has a 10mb cable connection with a old Linksys router as a firewall, the machine properly powers 
down by itself, all the fancy buttons on the keyboard work so when she presses the "E-Mail" button the 
email program opens, internet button the browser opens, etc. It came with 98% of the software she 
would use, Nero CD burner 5.5, MS Works XP, XP Plus (for photo printing) I only had to buy a Virus 
program, and Dragon Speech Recognition. She has Dragon Voice on it for typing (although she can type 
she's got her nails done all the time) My mom is 78. I just made her get a new computer bought her a 
Meridon 2.4Ghz, with 80g hard drive, 768ram, all the USB and camera media inputs on the front, DVD-RW, 
CD-RW, 17" TFT Samsung monitor, cheap new HP printer. After rebates as a bundle it was like $1025. The 
5.1 sound, network card and video are on the MB. I bought her the Creative 5.1 surround system 
speakers for a $100 on sale. My nephew will love it.
