Lewis,

Just saw your post re: stepping in a door if left unlocked. Here, here!

Our concerns seem so blase anymore. It's at a breakneck speed that we're
losing our privacy anymore and it makes me wonder how those billions of
Chinese survive in their crowded conditions. Even there a door unlocked is
more likely not to be transgressed than here, more of an honor thing, but
anymore can we really expect that kind of chivalry in America?

Anyway, that's why I'm so concerned about the security of my network. We
being  the 4th largest city in America - let's see, how large is New York
<g> - with  more of a residential bent, there seems to be greater
opportunity for a cruiser  w/ a laptop and rf sniffing software to happen
upon my network. Funny thing,  after our DA last year filed felony charges
against a local geek that was  sniffing out the County Clerk's LAN, these
behaviors seem to have gone  underground. There are no longer any signals
downtown except around the  outskirts. Maybe people truly have become more
security conscious. I hope so.
