None of the PC based software I have seen , NetGear, Cisco, USR, does that - you need to know the SSID or you get nowhere..
My point is that you should set up your router to require at least WEP authentication of clients. I have a Mac PowerBook here that can't connect to my Compaq iPaq WAP/router without my entering a WEP passphrase. You may also be able to set your WAP to not broadcast its SSID; that's a setting that's available on the Compaq device.
