1.  PING 192.168.1.1:  56 data bytes; 9 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss.
2.  Mozilla: timed out

DSL line connects to WESTELL modem (Model B90-210015-04, Rev C) supplied by Verizon.  Modem is connected to Linksys Wireless-G Router (WRT54G v1.1)  eCS PC is distant about 50' and one floor down.  eCS syatem has Belkin NIC connected to a Linksys Wireless-B broadband router.  NIC was detected upon installatioin of eCS 1.2.

Hi, Mark.  It surely looks like DHCP is enabled. Please do the following & report your results:

From a command line, type PING 192.168.1.1 and tell us whether you get a
reply (press Ctrl-C to stop the ping). Next, open Mozilla, and enter 192.168.1.1 and see if you can log in (the Linksys default is no username & a password of "admin"). If this works (as I suspect it will), make note of the internet connection type as configured on the main page, & post the setting here. Also, please give us detailed info on your setup, including:

Type  of  DSL connection you have, and the model of your DSL bridge.

BTW, if you had made it to Warpstock this weekend, I covered much of this in my Wi-Fi classes & there was also a home networking session. Also, you could have told Roderick in person what you thought of his answer! :-D

Warpstock 2004 in Denver was GREAT!!!!!!!!!

Please find my correspondence with Mensys that got me no help.  Has any body figured out how to get a eCS system to talk, via wireless routers, to router connected to a DSL line?  Mark

I don't know how to turn on DHCP, but I found C:\MPTN\BIN\dhcpmon.exe which, when run, yielded  DDNS Host Name: Not Registered; IP Adress 192.168.1.100; DHCP client has valid lease.  (as usual I have no idea what any of that means)  I also went to C:\TCPIP\bin and ran tcpstart.cmd.  I don't know what this accomplished.  Starting Mozilla browser fails.  I need detailed, step by step, instructions on how to get these routers talking to each other.
Thanks, Mark

Here is what I did.  Installed a Belkin NIC, which eCS 1.2 recognized when I installed 1.2.  BTW, 1.2 install was a breeze.  I bought a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router and connected it to the Belkin NIC.  DHCP is apparently loading at boot because there is a long delay before boot finishes.  Now what?  How do I get eCS router to talk to the Linksys Wireless-G router that is connected to the DSL line, which is connected to the Lindows PC being used to write this?  I feel that I am almost there but don't know how to open the door.  And yes I read so much that I am more confused than ever!!  Mark

Some routers by default have turned of the build in dhcp server. Have
you switched this on ?
